Girly Spa Party

My daughter turned 11. An age that has come to be tough on her father and me. She is no longer a little girl, but not really ready for everything she thinks she is.  When talking about what to do for her birthday this year, the party as well as the gifts were a little more difficult to decide on. We had the normal family get together...

She had a pretty good haul. Lot of girly clothes. We got her roller skates and cooking lessons. Perfect for a tween. As for her party with her buds, we had a sleepover last year, and it did not go well. To be perfectly frank it was a disaster. So, my daughter agreed, no sleepover. We decided to keep it small. She is a girly girl, so when spa came up she loved it. We did a peel off mask, lip scrub, foot lotion and played a nail painting game. Then the girls made jewelry out of duct tape. I don't understand the duct tape obsession, but it seems harmless enough. I am sure my mom felt the same about slap bracelets and troll dolls. The party this year was amazing. The girls got along, no fighting, it was a great afternoon. The menu included bacon wrapped smokies, pizza cupcakes, pretzels and Amish peanut butter and whipped cream cookies and cream cupcakes.
The decor included pink and zebra. My kiddos faves.

These cupcakes were so light and delicious. Recipe here.

The girls got a duct tape hair clip made by my daughter and headband along with the mirror and their goody bag. Yes, that is me. I accidentally deleted the picture without me in it from my camera!

My menu board greeted the girls.

Simple goody bags. Included candy and lip gloss.

We threw in some mustaches for good measure.

Pizza cupcakes. Yum.
